Welcome to the Bridgeman Fitness site
The reason for Bridgeman Fitness
The majority of my life has evolved around fitness. It consumed me so much through my sporting interests that
I could see no other career that suited me. The fitness industry was my destiny, and it started with a sports and
exercise science degree at the University of Gloucestershire. It took me to my current employment of several
years where I have been fortunate enough to continue my studies learning even more about what the fitness
world has to offer. Every opportunity to learn something new or rehearse existing knowledge has created more
opportunities to help others with their fitness goals.
Will Bridgeman Fitness add to a potentially oversaturated market for fitness related media online? Perhaps.
Will it give honest practical information that is based on science and real world results? I hope so. Will it
encourage you to contact me with suggestions for other fitness articles you would like to see? Maybe. While i
don’t claim to be the most literary of writers, it is something i like doing and will get better at with practice. The
more suggestions you send me, the fitter my brain gets!
In the abscence of suggestions I still anticipate writing fitness training articles on a monthly basis, sometimes
even weekly. Articles should appeal to a broad cross section of fellow fitness enthusiasts and professionals
alike. If you are a weekend warrior you should find articles which appeal to your desire to get the most out of
your training, and provide supporting information on the reasons why those fitness training methods are
effective. Perhaps you are a sports science undergraduate viewing this site as part of a literature review,
articles I write are fully referenced, with most references available on pubmed searches or amazon. It may be
your occupation that brings you to this site, a requirement to be fitness tested for example. You may even just
enjoy going to the gym and participating in sports for fun and want to experiment with different fitness tips and
find out more about the popular buzzword of functional training! Whatever your motives, remember if there is
something you want to see on Bridgeman Fitness just let me know!
Other fitness related sites on the net
There are many thousands of fitness related web sites on the internet. Some have a general approach
covering a whole range of fitness related media and others are more specific. There are sites on body building,
stretching, strength training, yoga, pilates, speed development, vertical jump development and many more.
The range of fitness, sports and exercise related information is unlimited. There are even fitness forums and
blogs where anyone and everyone can share training methods and exercise advice with suggestions for fat
loss, weight gain, performance training, and injury rehabilitation to name a few.
Out of these sites some have fitness products to sell and write their articles with bias towards these products
and promises of rippling abdominal muscles in 6 days! They contain images of fitness models, who in all
honesty have probably never used said contraptions! Some sites sell fitness training methods under the illusion
that they are the latest top secret fitness method straight from the underground! There are also the sites who
conform to popular fitness myths. They mention low intensity training for fat loss, create the illusion that all
resistance training programs are for bodybuilders (or that everyone should weight train like a bodybuilder), and
some even go as far as assuming everyone has to run to get fit. Fit for what?
Through all the misinformation and sales hype there are however some excellent fitness training sites out
there. You just have to know what to look for. Some do sell fitness equipment or services and others are just
content driven sites like this. It is my intention that this site is one of the more favourable ones. It will be one of
the sites that people add to their bookmarks or favourites to visit frequently. If you feel that your website also
fits into this category of relevant evidenced based content that is truly effective then please get in touch. I will
be keen to add your site to the search engine built into this page.
