A little about Steve Bridgeman... Steve Bridgeman who lives in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire started his fitness journey at the age of 7 having seen a few Bruce Lee films and read a couple of Karate books at the local library. He took up Tang Soo Do under the excellent instruction of John Kemp in Coventry. A buzz for competition soon developed, and after many years of not winning he soon started to collect a few medals. Several years later a move to Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire took place and Steve took up Shotokan Karate, yet found this a little too static for his liking. He settled into Tae Kwon Do with what was then the GTI, led by Master Clive Harrison. A broken cheek bone in 2002 immediately prior to being selected for the GTI English TKD team put a halt on training for some time. Training continued intermittently throughout his studies of Sports and Exercise sciences at the University of Gloucestershire. Shortly after graduating Steve went to train Mixed Martial Arts, initially above the India House pub in Gloucester prior to a rib injury, and has spent around 7 years training with Steve Bunn, of www.streetselfdefence.co.uk before switching to boxing with Tewkesbury Amateur Boxing Club. Steve graduated with a 2:1 honours degree and his quite happy to say that having a degree does not necessarily make you a knowledgeable and effective fitness/personal trainer. The education gave Steve a good analytical research mind, a thirst for reading about fitness, and a desire to learn more. Steve has learnt more in recent years however through his other training courses, including the NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist and Precision Nutrition Coaching. Most importantly it is the application of knowledge learned both on his training and others which leads to results. Steve has been in his current role within the fitness industry for over 9 years and will never change that. He views this website as another opportunity to “live fitness”, he trains himself and others, talks about it, listens about it, reads about it...why not write about it too! He lives with his wife and daughter, and has found fatherhood to be one of the most amazing life changing experiences he has ever had. What better motivator is there to be in good shape, than to know one can pick up their child when they cry, walk them to the top of the highest hills, run with them when they are riding their bike, play with them all day with out tiring, and do it all again the next day! Bridgeman fitness training aims to provide top quality fitness training advice, exercise information and educational resources for all fitness enthusiasts.  kettlebell training 1 kettlebell training 2 kettlebell training 3 kettlebell training 4 Expert fitness advice Steve cross country skiing in Kandersteg Steve mountain biking in Pyrenees Steve running with a broken bike in the Pyrenees and still getting to the pick up point before everyone else!
