The Warrior Mentality
“Never, never, never give up.” Sir Winston Churchill
Type “Warrior Mentality” into any search engine and you will get a whole load of
different stories on what it means to different people. Here is my version…
Whatever journey one takes towards their goals is bound to lead them to obstacles
that need crossing along the way. Real strength lies in the person who can climb
over these and continue along the path. They accept that things will get in their
way; they plan for this occurrence and will stop at nothing to continue in their quest.
They have no fear in choosing another path. It may take them another direction but
they do not fear this change. Change is progress in the mind of a warrior.
A warrior does not have to follow others; they do not need to acquiesce. They will
not accept things for how they are, choosing instead to accept things for how they
are going to be. They do not dabble in chance or fate, they know everything
happens for a reason and that reason is up to them!
A warrior will surround themselves with similar people; positive people with lots of
energy. While others are existing, warriors are living. Taking part is easy, but
winning is what counts!
My journey has taken me to one of physical education. I have a brain and I
want to learn with it, I have a body and I want to use it, I have a life and I want
to live it. I will make mistakes but I know I will get it right, I may fall down but I
will always rise up again.
My question to you is…
“Where will your journey take you and how will you get there?”
Weight loss? Pass a fitness test? Recover from injury? Run your first 10k
race? Learn to swim? Walk 2 miles?
Ask questions, seek advice, learn, change what you are doing, try new things,
share your knowledge, help others, plan and prepare, set goals…do whatever
it takes to get there with a warrior mentality.
In the words of Sir Winston Churchill:
"Victory at all cost, victory in spite of terror, victory however long or hard the road may be. For without
victory, there is not survival."
